News from Omeed Cultural Center in Iran

We are excited to share the pictures from the Norooz Festival Celebration at Omeed Cultural Center (Omeed Center) in the town of Shonbeh in the Southern Iranian province of Bushehr. Thanks to the generous contribution of MAP donors following the devastating 2013 earthquake, a center was built, as per the request of the residents of Shonbeh, through our Sister NGO, Nikgaman Jamshid to serve as a cultural center. Upon its completion, Omeed Center was turned over to the province’s Cultural Bureau. Since then, with the help of Nikgaman Jamshid, the center has been active in offering the town’s residents, in particular the children of Shonbeh and nearby villages, various cultural and educational programs, such as computer, art, photography, sewing, acting, and music.

The Norooz celebration included gifts for the children, food, singing, and a recital of Shahnameh by Negar Malarian. Our special thanks go to Nina Gharibzadeh from Nikgaman Jamshid who kindly oversaw the festivities.

We thank all our donors and supporters for giving the children and people of Shonbeh such a long-lasting gift.
