2012 Holiday Helping Hand Project Report

It is with utmost pleasure that we report that generous donations made by you toward MAP’s Holiday Helping Hand Project, cash and in-kind, found their way to very needy people, especially children, in California, New Mexico and Virginia, during the holiday season.

Thank you on behalf of the recipients of your compassion and loving-kindness.

Distributed items include the following:

  • 123 food baskets and 300 toys for low-income families of San Francisco’s Missions District;
  • 100 toys for underprivileged children through Sacred Hearts Community Service in San Jose, CA;
  • 50 toys for underprivileged children at Belle Haven Elementary School in Menlo Park, CA;
  • 27 food baskets and 150 toys for underprivileged children at Allendale Elementary School in Oakland, CA;
  • $500 (toward Christmas dinner) and over 100 toys for underprivileged children at Cesar Chavez Academy in East Palo Alto, CA;
  • 80 toys for underprivileged children at Bryant Elementary School in San Francisco;
  • 20 toys for refugee children through Pars Equality Center;
  • 140 toys to InnVision Shelter Network in Burlingame, CA;
  • Food baskets and toys for four needy families in California Bay Area;
  • 50 toys for underprivileged children at Family Support Services in San Francisco;
  • 300 turkeys for Sandy victims through a shelter on Staten Island;
  • $1,700 to the Thoreau Community Center in New Mexico for the Thanksgiving dinner and the after-school program for the underprivileged Navajo children; and
  • Meals for 2,500 children in Virginia (for half the school year) through Generosity Feeds.
