Cambodia According to World Bank statistics, 40% of Cambodians live below the national poverty line. Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia, has 564 slum areas which house 300,000 people, one quarter of the city's population. These children live in a severe toxic environment lacking basic needs such as food, shelter, heath and education. Due to poverty and lack of proper health care, 85 out of 1000 children die before they reach the age of five. According to the national census, there are 16 physicians in Cambodia for every 100,000 people. Hope Children's Home MAP opened the doors to a new Orphanage in July 2011. Hope CH in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is a 24-hour home for orphans and underprivileged children who would otherwise suffer physical, mental and emotional trauma due to living in extreme poverty or unsuitable home environment. This home is directed, managed and operated by Timon Seibel, Somphors Un and Sophea Phal. The children at this home receive love, care, education, health care and other needs. In addition to attending public school, these children receive various tutoring and educational programs helping them acclimate into their community as productive individuals.
Motomedix Motomedix is a free health clinic providing care and diagnostics for the residents at Stung Meanchey dump site community. The children in this community live in a highly toxic environment without access to clean drinking water, food or shelter. The children are plagued with a slew of diseases and no access to doctors or medicine. MAP supports the operation and the on going programs at this clinic. We serve this community by providing diagnostics, treatment and immunization for the children and preventive care through Health/Hygiene workshops once a month. Aziza's Place Is a grassroots home and learning center serving impoverished Cambodian children. AP children come from the Steung Meanchey municipal dumpsite, city slums, and other vulnerable situations or lifestyles. Our colorful and vibrant community which is located in the heart of the capital city of Phnom Penh opened its doors on February 14, 2007. MAP supplies the funds for food, medical needs, clothing and some of the programming at Aziza’s Place.
