A compassionate humanitarian and an advocate of children all over the world, Delfarib and her husband expanded their family by adopting three children from the orphanages of Iran. Fulfilling her life-long vision to extend a helping hand to the neediest children in the most deprived countries of the world, Delfarib co-founded Moms Against Poverty in 2008. With over 25 years of experience in the real estate market, Delfarib currently works as an asset manager for a well known real estate investor in the Bay Area.
Traveling and living around the globe from Iran to Europe and now the United States has given Maryam a global perspective on issues relating to children and families. She has worked with Amnesty International and other non-profit organizations, was trained and worked as a nutritionist and is currently a graphic designer whose work with non profit and community organizations has won numerous national awards. Maryam is one of the co-founders of Moms Against Poverty, and brings her expertise in the fields of public relations and advertising to MAP.
Nooshin has been dedicated to charitable giving for many years both in her personal and professional life. She co-founded Moms Against Poverty in 2008. She continues her passion for helping people in her professional life, by working in an organization which strives to provide affordable housing for those in need. Nooshin holds a BS from Cal Poly State University, she has worked for Affordable Housing Associates for the last ten years and currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The belief that we must be and live the change that we desire to see in the world has inspired and guided Ladan to lead a life filled with love and compassion towards humanity. As an advocate for providing low cost, effective health care to children around the world she has worked with various national and international organizations assisting those in need. Ladan has a BS in Electrical engineering and Masters in Holistic Medicine she works as a Holistic Health Practitioner and Yoga Therapist in the Washington DC area.
Fatemeh holds a B.S. degree in Business Management and is currently working as a manager for a private company. Her responsibilities include helping low income families and seniors to find affordable housing. Passionate about helping needy children and families, Fatemeh works with a number of non-profit organizations such as Court Appointed Special Advocate and the Child Foundation.
Advisory Board
Shirin has led a charitable life with passion to help people in need since a very young age. Her passion and belief that every life is worth celebrating has led her to campaign for various causes such as women and children's rights and wellbeing. She has worked as a fundraising and event coordinator for various charities. Shirin has dedicated her life to helping others. Shirin is a graphic and web designer and she is the web designer and manager for Moms Against Poverty. She currently resides in Northern VA.
Marriage Family Therapist practicing in Burlingame, California, Azizeh joined MAP in 2008. Azizeh is also an expert in the laws pertaining to adoptions from foreign countries. Azizeh's passion and love for children took her on an impossible journey to Iran. In 2006, despite the lack of political relations between Iran and the United States, Azizeh was able to single-handedly challenge the current Iranian constitution and successfully adopted an infant girl.
Mariam holds an MBA degree in Finance and is currently working as a senior manager of Vendor Finance at Genentech. Her professional responsibilities include managing an organization of 30 employees responsible for annual disbursements of over $20B. Mariam is passionate about helping needy families and especially enjoys working for an organization specializing in helping children. She joined MAP in 2008. Mariam currently resides in the SF Bay area.
Mojdeh is a compassionate individual who has always helped children in need. As a successful business owner Mojdeh helps MAP expand its reach through community outreach, advocacy and fundraising events. Mojdeh has always helped in her community and has coordinated countless charitable events at her salon, helping cancer patients shed their daily stress getting pampered free of charge. She currently owns and operates a successful hair salon in the Bay Area.
Yasi holds an MA in Linguistics. She joined MAP in 2011 and is currently devoting her time fully to the advancement of MAP. She is passionate about helping orphans and underprivileged children. She has worked as the Marketing Manager of a European office of a leading U.S. law firm. She was one of the initiators and organizers of biannual charity collections for around 100 children living in Children's Homes in an underprivileged region of a European country.
Haleh Merat Haleh is a general dentist and resides in San Francisco Bay Area. She promotes health and wellness among the needy by providing dental care to children of selected low income families through the local dental society. Haleh and her husband adopted their daughter from Iran in 2005 and joined MAP to have a bigger impact to help more children around the globe.
